మీ చేతులు అందంగా ,కోమలంగా ఉండాలి అంటే ముందుగా మీ చేతులని శుబ్రంగా కడుక్కోవాలి .మీ చేతుల్లో ఏమైనా మచ్చలు లాంటివి ఉంటె కనుక నిమ్మకాయ చెక్క తో దాన్ని శుబ్రం చేసుకోండి.తరువాత ఏదైనా కోల్డ్ క్రీం తో మర్దన చేసుకోండి.
ఆడవారు గిన్నెలు శుబ్రం చేసే సమయం లో గ్లౌస్లులు వాడటం చాలా అవసరం .గార్డెనింగ్ చేసే సమయం లో కానీ,ఇంటిని శుబ్రం చేసే సమయం లో అయిన గ్లౌసేలు మరవకండి.అవి వాడటం వాళ్ళ మీ చేతులు చాలా అందంగా ఉంటాయి, అలాగే గోర్లు కూడా విరగటం,పుచ్చటం అలంటి సమస్యలు కూడా ఉండవు .అలాగే రాత్రి పడుకునే ముందు కోల్డ్ క్రీం రాసుకొని పడుకోవటం అలవాటు చేసుకోండి.
 

ముడతల నివారణ కోసం చిన్న చిట్కా

ఒక చెంచా తేనేలో ఒక చెంచా బేసన్ పౌడర్ (సెనగపిండి ),కాసింత పసుపు ,5 -6  చుక్కల ఆలివ్ నూనె ను కలపండి.ముఖాన్ని శుబ్రంగా కడుక్కొని ఈ మిశ్రమాన్ని పట్టించండి.20  నిమిషాల తరువాత చన్నీటి తో శుబ్రం చేసుకోండి.

రెండు చెంచాల పచ్చి పాలు ,ఒక చెంచా బాదం పౌడర్ ,ఒక చెంచా ద్రాక్ష రసాన్ని పేస్టు లాగా తయారు చేసుకోవాలి.
ఈ మిశ్రమాన్ని మొఖానికి అప్లై చేసుకోవాలి.20  నిమిషాల తరువాత  మొఖాన్ని చన్నీటి తో కడిగేయండి.తరువాత మీ మొఖాన్ని సుతి మెత్తగా చేతి ముని వేళ్ళతో మర్దన చేయండి .ఇలా తరచూ చేస్తుంటే మీ మొఖం మీద ముడతలు కొద్ది రోజుల్లోనే మటుమాయం అవుతాయి  అని చెప్తున్నారు సౌందర్య నిపుణులు .

Mixed Vegetable Rice

I am sharing a very simple rice dish,that can be made quickly.All you need is some cooked rice,  mixed veggies and some basic ingredients and you can make this rice very easily.

Ingredients :

Basmati rice -1 cup
All veggies -1 cup
Onions -1
Garlic-Ginger paste -2 tbsp
Green chillies-3
Oil -2 tbsp
Salt to taste
Black Pepper -1 tsp
Fried Cashews -2 tbsp
Cinnnamon stick -1
Cloves -2
Fennel seeds -2 tsp
Chopped cilantro
Curry leaves


Preparation

Heat oil in a pan add cinnamon,cloves,fennel seeds,curry leaves,green chillies one by one and give a nice stir add onions,salt and cook till onions are nicely roasted,add ginger,garlic paste,mixed veggies and stir cook for a few minutes till the veggies are half cooked,add turmeric powder and the veggies cooked add pepper,cilantro leaves and stir cook.Add the cooked rice,fried cashews and stir to blend well.Enjoy hot mixed rice with some curry or raitha.

Sambar Recipe

 Ingredients :

1 cup Toor dal
Vegetables (Drumsticks ,Okra ,Sweet potato ,Carrots,Tomato)
Garlic -1
Red chilli powder -1/2 tsp
Dried coconut -1 tsp
Jaggery -pinch
3 Red chillies
3 Green chillies
1 tbsp Sambar powder
Curry leaves
Hing pinch
Salt to taste
1 tsp Mustard
1 tsp Tamarind paste
2 tbsp Cooking oil
Water 3-4 cups


How to make sambar
  • Wash and dice all the vegetables.
  • Boil water and cook the dal with turmeric and salt.
  • Separate the cooked dal and water, and keep them aside.
  • In toor dal water cook the vegetables..
  • After the veggies are cooked, add tamarind paste and red chilli powder.
  • Now add the cooked toor dal and simmer for a few more minutes
  • Heat some oil in a pan, splutter mustard, then add red chillies, green chillies, garlic,curry leaves, hing, and sambar powder ,dried coconut,and keep frying for a few minutes.
  • Season the sambar with the above prepared tadka.
  • Sprinkle coriander on top.

Capsicum Rice (Bell Pepper Rice)


  • Sona masoor Rice (or) Basmathi Rice -1 cup
  • Capsicum (multi color bell peppers ) - 3(cut into all types)
  • Grated coconut – 1 tbsp
  • Cashews – 1 tbsp (optional)
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Garam masala -1/2 tsp
  • Salt – to taste

To grind:
  • Dry red chillies- 6
  • Cinnamon stick – 1 “
  • Clove – 1
  • Sesame seeds – 2 tsp
  • Peanuts -5 tbsp
  •  Mustard seeds- 1tsp
  • Curry leaves – a few








Dry roast all the ingredients for grinding to a slightly coarse powder and keep it aside.
  1. Cook the basmathi rice with 1 and 1/2 cup of water.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and add  the capsicum with little salt and turmeric powder and fry till they become soft.
  3. Then add the ground powder and garam masala  followed by the coconut and fry for two minutes.
  4. Turn off the heat and mix the rice to the mixture.
  5. Roast the cashews  to the rice and serve hot with  raitha...

Sambar Powder

 Ingredients :

Red chillies - 2 cups or (50 g)
Coriander seeds -1 cup
Bengal gram (chana dal) -6 tbsp
Red gram ( kandi pappu) -4 tbsp
Black gram (urad dal )-2 tbsp
Hing -3 tsp
Fenugreek (menthulu) -1 tsp
Pepper corns -1 tsp(optional)
Turmeric powder -1 tsp
Oil -1/2 tsp

Preparation :

Cut the stalks of chillies.Take 1/1 tsp of oil and sprinkled over chillies are coated with a thin firm of oil.
Roast over a low heat till crisp.Add hing .
Mix well and remove from heat.Mix all the dals with turmeric and roast till light brown.
Roast coriander with fenugreek and pepper .
Cool and mix all these together.Place half the mixture in the cup fitted with grinding blade .Grind at speed 1till ingredients are crushed .
Then Grind at speed 3 till they are powdered to the consistency of very fine sand ,stopping the mixer for a while twice in between .
Repeat with remaining mixture .
cool and store in a dry airtight container..


Note:
The sambar powder varies from state to state ,family to family.This recipe is just one of them.The grinding procedure is same for any recipe.

Vangi Bath / Brinjal Rice

Vangi Bath is a popular dish from Karnataka. Rice is mixed with a curry made of eggplant or brinjal and spices.
 Ingredients:
  • Small eggplants or brinjals – 6
  • Chopped onions – 1 cup
  • Green chilies – 4
  • Basmati rice – 1 and 1/2 cups
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
  • Urad dal or split white lentils – 1 tsp
  • Chana dal or split bengal gram – 1 tbsp
  • One bay leaf
  • cumin seeds  – 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Chopped cilantro for garnishing

Masala or spices :
  • Coriander seeds – 1/2 tbsp
  • Chana dal or Split bengal gram – 1/2 tbsp
  • Urad dal or Split white lentils – 1 tsp
  • Dry red chilies – 5
  • Pepper –1/2 tsp
  • Cloves – 4
  • Cinnamon stick – 1/2″
  • Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Method of Preparation:
  1. Wash and soak rice for 20 minutes.
  2. Heat a tsp of oil in a frying pan and add all the masala ingredients one by one.
  3. Fry till the dals become golden brown.
  4. Remove from heat, cool it and grind it to a coarse powder.
  5. Boil 4 cups of water and add bay leaf, cumin seeds and finally add the soaked rice.
  6. Add a little salt. Cook the rice and drain extra water.
  7. Heat another deep bottomed pan, add the remaining oil.
  8. Add mustard seeds. Once they splutter, add urad dal, chana dal and green chilies.
  9. Fry till the dal becomes golden brown and add onions followed by salt. Remember we have already added salt to the rice.
  10. Saute onions till it becomes translucent.
  11. Now add the cut eggplants and cook until the eggplants become soft and crisp.
  12. Add water and make a thick gravy.
  13. Now add the cooked rice and mix well.
  14. Garnish with chopped cilantro.

Jantikalu (chakralu)

Ingredients:

1 cup besan (gram flour)

2 cups rice powder

1 tea spoon chilli powder

1 tea spoon salt (as per taste)

2 tea spoons Ajwain (carom seeds) ,(వాము )

4 tea spoons Til (sesame seeds)

a pinch of hing

1 tbsp of ghee 
Oil for deep fry

  
First  besan and rice powder and take into a bowl.  Head a table spoon of oil and add to it.  Mix well.  Add sesame seeds, carom seed, hing, chilli powder and salt.  Mix well and make a soft dough adding sufficient water
 Heat Oil in a frying pan. Fill the dough in a chakralu maker and make chakralu directly in the oil (or on a plastic sheet greased with oil and drop carefully into the oil)

Deep fry the Jantikalu (chakralu) until golden color in a medium flame and drain on a kitchen paper. let it cool completely

Andhra Style Jantikalu ( Chakralu) are ready........Store it in a air tight container....

Enjoy with a hot cup of coffee or tea...........
