Kajalu (Biscuits)

Karakaralade Kajalu
Ingredients:


All purpose flour(maida)  -2cups
(U can use wheat flour also)
Hot butter (ghee) -5tbsps
Water -1/4cup
Sesame seeds (nuvvulu) -1tsp
Cumin seeds (jeers seeds)-1tsp
Chilli powder (karam) -1tsp
Salt -1tsp

 Preparation :


First take a bowl , mix maida ,chilli powder, salt, cumin and sesame seeds together.
Pour hot ghee onto the bowl.


Add the water, mixing until a bit loose and sticky, make the dough into two portions.
Pour dough out on a floured surface, and knead  for a minute.
Dough should be smooth and no longer wet. You can sprinkle more flour on the surface if you find it’s sticking.
Take dough into a ball, and hit it with a rolling pin, turning it and folding it in half every few whacks. Do this for a couple of minutes.
Roll out dough until its  1/2 inch thin, cut out your biscuits from folded dough.
using a round cutter or knife also.
Place on a baking sheet close together and bake for 15 minutes or until the pieces are golden brown.
Make 50 pieces of biscuits.(kajalu)





                                                        Preheat the oven 450 degrees.
